Delverium Demo vs Early Access: Content, Co-op and Save Limits
The free demo is a starting-area sample, while Early Access adds the broader progression, biomes, equipment and systems described in the launch news. The September developer announcement says demo characters can be imported under first-launch conditions, but demo world saves are incompatible.

Choose by what you want to test
| Your goal | Useful route |
|---|---|
| Try the basic building, crafting and starting combat loop | Use the free Steam demo. |
| Try multiplayer before committing to a longer run | The updated demo includes online/local multiplayer; check that every participant is using the intended version. |
| Continue into the broader progression and later equipment | Use Early Access and plan a new full-game world. |
| Keep a demo character | Read the first-launch import conditions before opening the full game. |
What the demo represents
The February demo announcement describes starting biomes, dungeons and roughly one to two hours of sample content. That is the developer's content estimate, not a hard playtime limit or a benchmark we measured. September launch news says the refreshed demo received fixes and balancing while its content remained substantially the same.
Do not apply a demo-only claim to every Early Access system. The launch and subsequent patches add or alter content, including fishing weapons in v0.1.0.2 and underground flooring and stronger torch suppression in v0.1.0.3.
Handle characters and worlds separately
The September 15 announcement offers Import Character Saves before starting the full game for the first time, with the demo and valid character saves installed on the same PC. It explicitly excludes demo worlds. The developer recommends a fresh character for the intended Early Access experience.
Use the character import guide before relying on an old save. These sources do not establish a method to recover a skipped import prompt or convert a demo world.
Pick the next task after choosing a version
For a new world, use the first-hour route. For a group, use the online host/join guide. Keep demo and full-game versions clear when discussing a problem; this page does not promise cross-version sessions.
