Delverium Dedicated Server Options and Lodestone Joining Guide
Ordinary Delverium co-op uses a player-hosted world. Lodestone documents a community Windows headless server for up to eight players, but every joining player needs the Lodestone client layer: an unmodified stock game cannot connect directly. This is an unofficial option, with separate documentation and compatibility requirements.
Lodestone and LodestoneServer public documentation observed October 3, 2026; no own server deployment test
Choose the right hosting model
| Model | What the documentation establishes | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| In-game host/join | The player opens the game and hosts the world. | Your group plays while the host is online. |
| Lodestone community server | A Windows server runs the world; all players need its client layer. | Your group accepts the community software and its compatibility requirements. |
| Self-hosting LodestoneServer | Public server files and configuration docs exist, but a Steam-launch-check step remains undocumented. | You can evaluate that current limitation before attempting setup. |
Join an already prepared Lodestone server
- Ask the host for the server address, game port, password if set, and required game/client versions.
- Open the Lodestone GitHub project and use its current releases/instructions. The README names LodestoneSetup-latest.exe as the client installer.
- Follow the project's installation guidance for your existing Delverium game installation. Its client layer places winhttp.dll and BepInEx next to the game executable.
- Add the host's address in ip:port form, choose your character and use the client's Connect action.
- After connecting, confirm you reached the intended server world. The server keeps the world save; characters remain local to the player according to the project.
If the connection fails
First confirm every player installed the required client layer, then compare the address, game port, password and versions with the host. A stock game attempting to join directly is a different issue from a blocked network port. The server port guide distinguishes gameplay, query, admin and map services.
The current self-hosting limitation
The server README says the game can exit if it fails the Steam launch check and says the complete self-hosted Steam-start procedure is not yet documented. It describes managed hosting as handling that step. We therefore do not present the remaining steps as a verified start-to-finish self-hosting tutorial.
Use ordinary online co-op when a dedicated service is unnecessary. This guide does not recommend buying a provider based on an AI summary or claim that the community server is official Sagestone support.
