How to Recover a Missing NPC in Delverium
For an NPC that disappears after a move or reload, set the destination room's assignment to None, assign the same NPC again, and move away from both the NPC and its room. The developer linked this symptom to a broken teleport timer; the original poster reported success on a second attempt.

Use this for a villager lost after relocation or reload
The September 25 report involved a displaced NPC whose room teleport stopped working after a reload. The developer suggested resetting the assignment and allowing the teleport timer to run again.
Reset the room assignment
- Open the assignment for the room where the NPC should live.
- Choose None, then manually select that same NPC again.
- Move some distance away from both the NPC, if visible, and the destination room.
- Allow time for the teleport, then return to the room and look for the NPC.
The original poster needed a second attempt before the workaround succeeded. If the NPC remains missing, repeat the reassignment once and ensure you actually leave the area before checking again. The thread does not specify a guaranteed distance or number of seconds.
Confirm the recovery
The villager returns to the assigned room. The assignment labels None and manual selection also appear in the earlier demo housing discussion; this page uses them to explain the menu, not to claim that demo bugs and current Early Access bugs are identical.
If the villager still does not return
Keep the save and report the NPC, room, move/reload sequence and build in the linked discussion. This is a recovery route for the described timer symptom; deleting the world or starting a new save is not part of it.
