How to Split Stacks in Delverium: Take One, Take Ten and Store Items
The October 4 developer reply lists Take One as Shift + Left click or LT + A, Take Ten as Shift + Right click or LT + X, and Loot/Store as Ctrl + Left click or Y. These defaults can be changed in Control Options.

Take one item, ten items or move a stack
In the October 4 developer reply to the Quick Stack Nearby discussion, Sagestone Games gives these default inventory actions. Open the inventory or container, target the intended item slot and use the action matching the quantity you need.
| Action | Keyboard and mouse | Gamepad |
|---|---|---|
| Take one item | Shift + Left click | LT + A |
| Take ten items | Shift + Right click | LT + X |
| Loot or store the item | Ctrl + Left click | Y |
These are the developer's listed defaults. If you have remapped controls, use the corresponding current action in Control Options. The quantity controls are not a promise that the game can automatically divide a stack into any arbitrary number.
Move only the amount you need
- Open the inventory and, if transferring between them, the intended chest.
- Read the source quantity and make sure the destination can accept the item.
- Use the one-item or ten-item action on the source slot. Use the ordinary placement action for the destination shown by the inventory interface.
- Compare both counts after placement. For a quantity such as eleven, use the ten-item and one-item actions rather than assuming a separate half-stack shortcut.
- For moving the item directly between inventory and an open container, use the Loot/Store action instead.
The eleven-item example is a way to combine the documented quantity actions. It is not a separate key combination or an in-game transfer we have personally tested.
Splitting and quick stack solve different problems
The thread also discusses the Stack to Nearby button and Restock. Those are storage actions, whereas taking one or ten lets you control a quantity. If nearby stacking refuses more of an item when the matching chest stack reaches 999, follow the full-stack workaround; changing the split key does not establish that this storage behavior has been fixed.
If the action does something else
- Check that you are interacting with an inventory slot rather than a world object.
- Read or reset the relevant binding in Control Options, especially on a remapped gamepad.
- Check destination space and whether you have enough items for the quantity action.
- If an Xbox controller sends two actions for one press, use the separate duplicate-input workaround.
If it still fails, record the source quantity, destination space, device and build when reporting the result. Keep the documented default actions separate from a guessed hotkey.
