How to Get Cow Hide in Delverium

Cow Hide comes from killing a cow. If you cannot find cows, the developer's September 24 Early Access advice is to search the northern islands. Players in the same discussion describe capturing a cow with a net and raising it at home; use that route if you want to bring the animal back before taking its hide.

Find a cow first

  1. If the area around your settlement has no cows, search the northern islands. This is the developer's location hint from the Early Access discussion.
  2. Identify a cow in your own world. Delverium generates its maps, so another player's exact coordinates are not a reliable destination.
  3. Decide whether you want to bring it back before collecting hide. Players describe using a net to capture a cow and raise it at their base.
  4. Kill a cow when you need Cow Hide, and check your inventory for that material.

Capture or take the hide?

The immediate material route ends with killing a cow. Capturing one is useful if you want to move it home first, but capturing alone is not the hide-producing action described in the thread. Do not expect living cows to produce hide on a timer like sheep produce wool.

The source does not give a verified breeding recipe, net ingredient list or guaranteed hide yield. Follow the relevant in-game recipe if you need to make capture equipment.

Still no Cow Hide?

Separate a search problem from a drop problem: no cow means you should continue the northern-island search; a cow found but no hide means you should check the material name and record what happened when it died. The success check is Cow Hide in your inventory, not simply finding cattle.
