Find the Fourth NPC in Delverium
The developer counted four NPCs in the September 27 discussion. Players with Agnes, Brynn and Floyd identified their missing fourth as the Merchant. One player found that NPC far away in a swamp; that is a reported search clue, not a fixed location for every world.
Sep 27–29, 2026 Early Access discussion; player names and swamp location are attributed reports. No fixed coordinates or future NPC roster.
Compare the villagers you have
Check your own recruited villagers before counting empty houses. In the linked discussion, a player listed Agnes, Brynn and Floyd; another player identified the Merchant as the missing fourth. The developer's count is dated Early Access information, not a promise that the roster will stay at four.
Look for a discovery, not another empty room
- Write down the NPCs already present in your settlement. If your list matches the three named above, make the Merchant your next search target.
- Explore unvisited surface areas. A swamp was the successful fourth-NPC location for one player, so it is a useful place to investigate if your world has an unexplored one.
- Talk to the NPC you find and follow the recruitment options actually offered. Prepare a valid room before trying to house them.
- Check the Merchant's discovery-gift dialogue. The pontoon guide explains why this matters for crossing water.
Already recruited, but now absent?
That is a different problem from discovering the fourth villager. Use the missing-NPC recovery guide and inspect their room assignment. Do not assume exploring another swamp will recover an NPC who was already assigned to your settlement.
What this search cannot guarantee
The thread does not provide a universal spawn coordinate, a guaranteed distance from the starting point, or a complete list of recruitment conditions for every villager. Keep the world and check new terrain rather than treating one reported location as a requirement to restart.
