How to Grow and Harvest Crops in Delverium

Use a hoe to prepare soil, plant the crop, and let it mature before harvesting. The community wiki describes watering and fertiliser as ways to speed growth. An October 1 player report describes a low-maintenance routine rather than daily weeding.

Community farming documentation + Oct 1, 2026 player experience; exact growth times and regrowth behavior are not established here.

Prepare a small crop plot

  1. Keep the planting material in your inventory and select a hoe. Use it on ground to prepare a planting tile.
  2. Place the crop's seed on the prepared tile. For potatoes, look for the potato itself in the planting list rather than assuming a separate Potato Seed item.
  3. If you have a watering can or fertiliser, use them while the crop is immature. The wiki treats these as growth aids; it does not make daily watering a requirement.
  4. Wait for maturity, then harvest with a tool or melee weapon. The wiki notes that swords can harvest more than one tile in a swing.

Why a plant will not harvest

First distinguish a growing crop from a mature crop. The wiki says normal tools and melee weapons harvest mature plants, while the hoe can also destroy immature ones. Switching to a hoe to force an early harvest can therefore remove the plant rather than solve a growth problem.

Check the result in your inventory after harvesting. Keep some planting material for your next batch and some produce for cooking; do not assume every crop regrows or returns a guaranteed seed count. Those rules are outside the sources used here.

Turn the harvest into a useful next step

For health-related food choices, use the healing guide. If you are collecting cooking achievement ingredients, use the three-dish checklist. Steam describes Green Thumb as harvesting 30 planted crops; gathering wild produce is a different activity.

If your plot behaves differently

Record the crop, whether it was planted or found wild, the tool and your current build. The October player routine is useful experience, not a universal growth timer or a claim that we tested every crop.
