Stop the Controller Detected Popup in Delverium
For the false controller-detection symptom, the developer added a controllersEnabled setting in build 25477537. Launch and exit the updated game, then change that setting to false in your Steam ID’s Settings.xml. This disables controller detection/input; it is different from fixing duplicate Xbox input while keeping gamepads usable.
Sep 23, 2026 developer workaround, build 25477537; Windows and false peripheral detection. Not the default setup for controller players.
Use this for a false detection popup
The original player used a Cyborg II peripheral mapped to keyboard movement. Its thumbstick repeatedly triggered a controller prompt. If your real Xbox controller is detected twice, use the duplicate-input guide instead; disabling all controller input defeats the purpose of a controller session.
Change only the documented setting
- Update the game, launch it once, then exit. The developer used this step to create/update the settings file.
- Open
%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Sagestone Games\Delveriumin Windows Explorer. - Go to
Users\[SteamId]\Settings\for your own Steam ID. Make a backup copy ofSettings.xmlbefore editing it. - Open the file in a text editor. In the controls section, change
<controllersEnabled>true</controllersEnabled>to<controllersEnabled>false</controllersEnabled>. - Save, restart the game and use the same peripheral action that produced the popup. Check that the prompt stops and that your intended keyboard inputs still work.
Restore controller support when you need it
Exit before editing again, then restore the setting to true or restore your backup. Do this before expecting a real gamepad or local controller player to work normally.
If the setting is missing or the prompt remains
Confirm that you launched and exited an updated build and edited the correct Steam ID's file. Do not create unrelated XML sections or change other control flags based on this guide. Report the build and peripheral if the documented setting is present but ineffective.
