Power Function vs Finalizor Blaster: Where to Farm Each

Power Function and Finalizor Blaster come from different enemies. The developer identifies the Segmentation Fault boss as the random source of Power Function, and Finalizors in the Fault/Circuitry biome as the rare source of Finalizor Blaster. Repeated boss kills will not substitute for farming the other weapon's target.

Choose the enemy for the weapon you want

WeaponTargetWhat to expect
Power FunctionSegmentation Fault bossRandom boss drop
Finalizor BlasterFinalizors in the Fault/Circuitry biomeRare enemy drop

This distinction comes from the developer's reply to a player looking for enemy drops. The community wiki's Finalizor Blaster entry also identifies Finalizors as its source.

Use the right farming loop

  1. Pick the weapon you need, then use the corresponding target in the table.
  2. For Power Function, repeat the Segmentation Fault boss encounter and inspect its drops.
  3. For Finalizor Blaster, find Finalizors in the relevant biome and inspect their drops.
  4. Check the item's actual name when it appears; these two weapons are not interchangeable names for the same drop.

Why repeated kills can still give no weapon

Random and rare drops are not guaranteed on the next attempt. The discussion includes a player frustrated after many kills, but provides no drop percentage, pity counter or guaranteed kill count. A run of unsuccessful attempts does not by itself prove that the item has been removed.

If you have been killing the wrong target, switch targets first. If you have the correct target, record what you are fighting and the build before reporting a suspected drop problem. This guide helps you choose a source; it does not rank every late-game weapon by unverified damage numbers.
