How to Craft a Small Net and Catch Animals in Delverium
The community Small Net reference gives a recipe of 4 Wood and 4 Twine at a Workbench and describes capture from small critters through to cows. Use it as the selected tool near the target. Prepare a valid pen first if your goal is livestock rather than simply carrying a captured animal.

Make the capture tool
- Keep 4 Wood and 4 Twine available.
- Stand near a Workbench and inspect the Small Net recipe in the crafting list.
- Craft the net, then select it on the hotbar.
- Approach the animal and use the tool action for your current binding.
If the recipe is unavailable, check the materials and Workbench proximity. The tool name says Small Net, but the reference's stated target range includes cows; its name alone is not a documented small-animal-only restriction.
Prepare the destination
For chickens or sheep, have a valid fenced pen with a water trough ready and inspect its capacity. The farming reference also allows building a valid pen around a wild animal. These are alternatives to catching and transporting every animal from a distant area.
Use the cow guide for the developer's northern-island search clue. Catching a cow and killing one for hide are different goals; capture does not itself produce Cow Hide.
Critters, bait and pets
The June developer news describes catchable critters that can be used as bait or kept as pets. It does not supply a complete current pet-command system or establish that every captured animal is valid fishing bait. Check the item's actual description before spending a livestock capture on a fishing plan.
If the attempt fails
Confirm the selected tool, reach the target and inspect any game feedback. This reference does not establish a capture probability or a guaranteed distance, so repeated misses should not be converted into an invented success-rate formula. Keep capture problems separate from a pen that rejects or cannot support the animal.
