Do Faults Spread in Delverium? Corruption, Biomes and Enemy Spawns

The October 4 accepted community answer says Faults do not spread like Terraria's Corruption or Crimson in the current Early Access context. Treat terrain, a named Fault biome and enemies spawning near a base as separate questions. This is a dated player answer, not a developer guarantee for every future version.

October 4, 2026 accepted Steam player answer; current Early Access, not a documented future spread mechanic.

Do Faults spread like Terraria's Corruption?

The current community answer is no equivalent spreading corruption mechanic. In the October 4 Early Access discussion, a player specifically asked whether Faults spread like Terraria's Crimson or Corruption. Torinux's accepted reply says “Not really.” This is a dated player answer, rather than a developer specification for every future version.

You do not need to import Terraria's containment plan into your Delverium world on the strength of the Faults story premise. A named threat in the story, an existing biome and enemies appearing near your base are different things.

Identify the problem before changing your world

What you are seeingUseful next action
Enemies appear around a workshop or route.Check these current torch and enemy-spawn rules. Enemy spawning does not by itself establish that terrain is being converted.
You found a Fault biome or need Fault Ore.Use the Fault Ore and armour guide for that resource task. Gathering an ore is not a documented way to cleanse spreading terrain.
You want a different level of pressure in the run.Read the world difficulty and Horde Mode choices. Horde Mode is a separate setting; it is not a confirmed corruption-spread switch.

Should you dig a quarantine trench or look for a cleansing recipe?

The cited answer does not give a reason to dig a containment trench, abandon a nearby base or search for a purification item. Spend that effort on the actual obstacle: lighting an area, preparing a travel route or gathering the material you need. No cleansing recipe or required trench width is established by this discussion.

If you think a boundary really moved

Compare the same map location at two times and record the game version. Keep the original world save and show the change when reporting it. That would be useful evidence of a specific behavior; additional enemies, a story description or a different world seed would not demonstrate terrain spread on their own.

The reply also expresses a preference for an off switch if such a mechanic were introduced later. That preference is not an announcement that spreading Faults or that switch are planned.
