Where to Find Obsidian in Delverium
A September 23–24 Early Access player report places obsidian on crystal levels near lava, without needing to reach Hell first. Search there as an earlier route to try. The community wiki also records Obsidian Ore in the Underworld, so the crystal route is an alternative rather than the only source.

Try the crystal-level lava route
- Prepare for combat at your current difficulty. Players in the discussion mention ranged or magic preparation, but their Normal and Hard/Horde experiences differ.
- Explore crystal levels and inspect the areas near lava. Tank Lowe's report describes finding obsidian there before reaching Hell.
- Check the resource name before collecting it, then look for Obsidian Ore in your inventory.
What if you do not find it there?
Treat the lava-adjacent crystal location as a community search route, not a promise that every patch of lava contains ore. There is no fixed depth or guaranteed yield in the report.
The community wiki's Obsidian Ore entry also records an Underworld source. If your current progression already reaches that region, it is another documented place to search. The crystal route does not make the current wiki obsolete.
Match preparation to your difficulty
A player finding the route manageable with Horde off does not prove it will be equally safe on Hard with Horde enabled. Choose combat equipment for your own settings, and avoid relying on this location hint as a universal low-risk farming method.
You have completed this search when you obtain Obsidian Ore. Exact coordinates, an ore-per-minute rate and a full combat build would go beyond the source's answer.
