Delverium Lodestone Server Won't Start: Boot-Report Error Guide
Read lodestone\boot-report.txt before changing settings repeatedly. HOSTING is the documented success state; WILL NOT HOST, WORLD DID NOT START and CLIENT describe different failures. The report includes build, patch, world and port details to identify the failed stage.

Match the first-line verdict
| Verdict | Documented meaning | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| STARTING | Startup still progressing | Read later lines and allow normal startup |
| HOSTING | World running, gameplay port open | Test a Lodestone client join |
| WILL NOT HOST | Required patch, Steam startup or gameplay-port failure | Use the specific following report lines |
| WORLD DID NOT START | World missed its startup deadline; port closed again | Inspect world/startup details |
| CLIENT | Process is a joiner, not a server | Compare installed package and host configuration |
Resolve the failed stage
- Verify the server files sit beside Delverium.exe and match the installed game build.
- Check the correct full-game/demo app-ID value and the project's Steam launch limitation.
- For a reported port failure, inspect the selected base port and whether another instance is already using it.
- For a world-start failure, compare the world settings and report details before changing unrelated network ports.
- After a meaningful change, restart once and read the new verdict.
A running process is not enough
The admin health endpoint answers 200 only for HOSTING when that service is available. The local roster file is refreshed regularly; its stale field distinguishes an old snapshot from current player state. Keep the boot verdict, game build and exact failing line when asking the project for help, rather than sending passwords or an undifferentiated folder dump.
The README does not yet supply a complete self-hosted resolution for Steam's launch check. The installation guide publishes the available file/config steps, while this page helps identify that actual blocker without inventing a universal bypass.
