Delverium Character Transfer: Use the Same Character in Another World

Delverium saves characters and worlds separately. Select your existing character, then load or create the world you want to enter. The developer documents continued character progress across worlds; a September Early Access player also describes taking an equipped character into a second world to mine. This does not copy the original settlement into the new world.

Character progress and the world are separate

The developer's May 20 save explanation says characters can continue progress across multiple worlds because character and world saves are separate. In a September 29 Early Access discussion, a player describes bringing their equipped character into a second world to mine. Together these sources support using another world without creating a replacement character.

Your original base and explored terrain belong to the original world. Loading another world is not copying that settlement, resizing its map or moving an NPC town. A Journey Shrine is a travel route within a world; it is not the character-selection route described here.

Select the existing character before the other world

  1. Leave the current session through the documented save-on-exit action. Keep the original world in the world list.
  2. For solo play, choose Start from the main menu. At character selection, load the existing character you want to keep rather than creating a new one.
  3. After selecting the character, load another existing world or create a separately named new world. For a new world, choose its difficulty, size and Horde setting before confirming.
  4. Once loaded, inspect the character and its carried equipment. Establish the new world's shelter and return route before attempting deeper mining.
  5. When returning, save and leave, select the same character again and load the original world. Check that it is your original settlement before continuing.

Use a second world for a specific resource task

Bring the appropriate pick, combat equipment and food for your target biome. The September player tried another world while looking for gold; that is an example, not a guaranteed rich seed or an easier map. The developer explicitly says world size has no dedicated spawn or aggro rule. Use the world-options guide when choosing the new world.

A retained character is not a promise that every stair, shrine or progression condition in another world is already resolved. Follow the local progression clues if access is blocked. The cited sources do not enumerate every character-versus-world progression flag.

Check the result and the save type

Success means the intended existing character appears in the intended second world, and the original world remains separately selectable. If the character or equipment is wrong, check which character you selected before editing or replacing a save. The save guide distinguishes Player and World folders.

Importing a demo character is a separate operation. Use the demo-import procedure for that case; a demo world does not become a compatible full-game world through character selection.
